Mark Webber is currently the best open wheel racer from the land down under, and subsequently
Australia's best hope for a homegrown F1 driver in the near future. Like most non-European drivers in the upper echelons of formula racing, Mark migrated to Britain, after short stint in
his local Formula
Ford series. His success in British Formula 3 exposed him to the world of Sport Cars, and in 1998 he was signed by the
competitive
AMG-Mercedes of the FIA International Sport Car Championship. After the team and championship fell through in 1999, Mark landed in International Formula 3000 with the European Aviation Team, where he finished an
impressive 3rd in his debut season. Without a doubt in most peoples minds, Mark will soon be a regular in Formula 1.
