Jarno has had a promising F1 career so far. His debut season
of 1997 was rather atypical,
as his promising form earlier in the year
prompted him to be shared by both Minardi and Prost, as he filled in for the injured Olivier Panis. His excellent results while at Prost landed him a full time position with the team the following year, where he struggled with a highly uncompetitive car. Yet in both 1998 and 1999 he led the charge for Prost by outscoring his highly touted team mate, Olivier Panis. Due to these performances, he was secured by Jordan for the 2000 season, a year in which he again
challenged a highly touted team mate,
Heinz-Harald Frentzen. In 2001 Jarno is looking forward to the new Honda engines powering his Jordan.
