Kimi Raikkonen has stepped in nicely to take over being the most admired racing driver in Finland from retired champion Mika Hakkinen. Since being snapped up by Peter Sauber for the 2001 season, Kimi has done nothing but impress the F1 world with his blinding speed; so much so that he was selected to take over Hakkinen’s seat at McLaren for the 2002 season over much more experienced drivers. He did not disappoint. In fact, he displayed some of the best racing of the season, such as his almost-victory in France and great battle with Montoya in Germany.
Furthermore, Kimi
showed that he has
that intangible
quality to perform
very well in a high
pressure driving
situation. Next season is sure to be even better for this future world champion.
