When Marc joined the F1 world in 1999, most thought that he would be content to run at the back of the field as most pay-drivers are.
Instead he pushed the limits of his
slow Minardi to achieve a championship point, a reward that comes few and far between
at Minardi. After the 2000 season Marc's
contract with
Minardi was up, it looked as though he would not be part of the F1 circus in 2001, yet low and behold Sir Frank Williams comes to his rescue by offering him an exclusive testing
opportunity with the team, which Marc took with open arms.
He will be joining
Alex Wurz and
Ricardo Zonta in their bid to return to GP racing
in the near future.
