Luca Badoer currently holds the dream job of every young Italian race fan: to be the test driver for the beloved Scuderia Ferrari. Regarded as one of the most talented drivers outside of F1, Luca has had sporadic appearances in F1 since 1993, spending time with 'minnow' teams such as Minardi, Forti, and Lola, all of which were unable to adequately compete with the rest of the field. Prior to his F1 appearances he competed in the International F3000 championship, where in 1992 he showed his talent by becoming champion, beating the likes of Rubens Barrichello, David Coulthard, and Olivier Panis. Now, after his great testing work for Ferrari has been recognized, it appears he will finish his F1 career testing for Ferrari.
