Great racing drivers
work well under
pressure.
Fernando Alonzo is a
great racing driver,
since even with the
weight of being
tipped to be the
next Michael
Schumacher (at the
tender age of 22!)
he manages to come
home with great
finishes in
less-than-perfect
machinery.
Already in 2003 he
has a pole and two
podium finishes (as
of the Spanish GP)
and will likely add
to the tally.
Prior to F1 Fernando
spent very few
season's in stagnant
water, moving up the
ladder with great
efficiency. He
went from Karting to
Formula 1 in 4 years
with his appointment
as Minardi's driver
in 2001. After
an impressive debut
he was signed by
Flavio Briatore at
Renault as tester to
be brought into a
racing position the
following season.
Fernando is without
a doubt the most
impressive youngster
to enter F1 for the
past few seasons,
and will certainly
achieve great
success in Formula
1.
